Summer Wind Solar – Our Process
One of the advantages of working with Summer Wind Solar is that we make solar simple. We take care of you every step of the way, through design, installation, permits and rebate paperwork. We are excited to go green with you and to bring you to energy independence!
There are a few easy steps involved with installing your solar system.
Step One: One of our knowledgeable Solar Consultants will review your electrical usage and evaluate your home utilizing satellite photos to let you know how much you can save every month.
Step Two: Site Audit, design and permits –We will coordinate a site audit for your home, where we take measurements to design your custom solar system. We will then submit the electrical and structural drawings to your local permit office on your behalf.
Step Three: Installation - A home solar system typically takes only three days to install.
Step Four: City Inspection - A city inspector will then review your installation to confirm that it was installed to meet building and electrical codes.
Step Five: Utility Inspection - A utility inspector will review your installation and grant permission to connect your system to the power grid.
Step Six: Interconnection - This is the best part! Turning on your solar system enables you to enjoy the benefits and the savings of producing your own clean, solar energy.
Once all of these approvals have come through, we will be ready to install your solar system.
The typical timeline before installation is 3 to 4 months. After the installation is complete, we will schedule the city inspection and the utility company inspection. The timeline for this is about 2 to 4 weeks. We are in constant communication with the city’s and utility companies.
